Developmental Edit

Similar to an editorial assessment, but more detailed. Ideal for authors who have a completed manuscript and are seeking substantive feedback regarding plot, character development, pacing, world-building, etc., in order to refine their novel.

Line Edit

Once the developmental edit phase is concluded, the next step would be a line edit focusing on voice and style. Suggestions at this stage include ensuring consistency of tone, refining syntax, and clarifying word choices to make each line more impactful. Highlighting any incongruences in character and plot or continuity of details that may have been introduced or accidentally left in during the developmental edit stage. And ensuring that the narrative flows well.
